Charity Home - Alzheimer's Disease Foundation of Malaysia

Hello everyone! We would like to introduce one of the selected charity homes for Project Change Watt We Can 2018.

The idea of setting up an Alzheimer's Disease Foundation of Malaysia was first mooted in 1996 by a member of the Rotary Club of Shah Alam (RCSA), Selangor, whose mother is an Alzheimer's patient.

The Alzheimer's Disease Foundation was registered in August 1997 and obtained tax-exemption status in September 1999. Currently having local chapters at Perak, Johor Bahru, Penang, Malacca, Sabah, Kelantan, Seremban, Sarawak, and Kuantan.

Alzheimer's Disease Foundation of Malaysia provides advice, support, education, and training relating to care skills, awareness and community services to caregivers, healthcare professionals and the public.

Under Project Change Watt We Can 2018, Alzheimer's Disease Foundation of Malaysia’s Wishlist items are 89 units of LED fluorescent tube light, 3 units of refrigerator, 14 units of Air-conditioner and 1 unit of washing machine. With this, we believe that they will be able to achieve savings of approximately 30 % - 40% of their current monthly electricity bills and also help protect the environment. Creating a sustainable impact is the gift that keeps on giving. Money saved from the electricity bills can be used to improve other aspects of the lives of the less fortunate.
